FWIW I think the Maddie Aumann account and the legislation it led to is so important it needs to be circulated internationally to all the FND (and ME and Long Covid) groups, suggesting they all consider whether a life-saving piece of legislation could be passed in their location to prevent things like this from happening. In my opinion, something similar is definitely needed urgently in the UK for both paediatric and adult cases. I gather from online enquiries that in some contexts at least basing the legislation on human rights might be the most effective approach.
