FND in UK documentary

I don't know if people have seen this, but this documentary showed the treatment of patients at one if the UK's few FND clinics. I thought readers here might find it interesting:

Thanks for sharing this. What makes this particularly interesting today is how explicitly psychological the explanation of FND was:

“For most people, the cause is psychological.”
“Your brain is trying to protect you from having intolerable emotions or memories and it causes physical symptoms instead.”

And later, when arguing for funding:

“At least 70% of patients who have functional illness have a psychological cause and that can be identified.”

That sits rather awkwardly beside the modern framing of FND, where psychological trauma or distress is not considered necessary for diagnosis. It is a fascinating snapshot of how substantially the explanation surrounding essentially the same diagnosis has changed.
