I was diagnosed with FND. Saw a neurologist and he said you must stop taking Keppra as it causes depression and anxiety and start on an alternative anti-seizure drug. I left with a step down plan and guess what, the depression and anxiety has gone. My willpower has come back along with the ability to plan, i can think clearly now. I actually enjoy things now. So the FND diagnosis was wrong all along and it was the Keppra. Why the specialist didn’t Google Keppra I don’t know.
I’m glad you found the answer and are feeling better. Keppra can cause depression, anxiety and cognitive problems that resemble FCD. Missing a known medication effect and misdiagnosing it as functional is a serious diagnostic failure.
