Neural dysfunction underlying divergent thinking and its shared mechanisms with protracted withdrawal symptoms in heroin use disorder

PubMed - functional neurological disorder Published 19 Oct 2026 Relevancy: Not reviewed

CONCLUSIONS: These findings reveal a sustained compensatory pathological mechanism and an imbalance in neural resource allocation during complex cognition in HUD individuals. The identified signatures of cortical activity by fNIRS offer reliable biomarkers for the rapid detection of both higher-order cognitive deficits and withdrawal symptoms, and further offer precise cortical targets for their integrated intervention.

Painless Spontaneous Spinal Epidural Hematoma Mimicking Acute Ischemic Stroke: A Case Report

PubMed - neurological misdiagnosis Published 19 Oct 2026 Relevancy: Not reviewed

CONCLUSIONS: Painless spontaneous spinal epidural hematoma is an easily overlooked stroke-mimicking emergency. For patients receiving anticoagulant or antiplatelet therapy who present with acute bilateral limb weakness or stroke-mimicking neurological deficits without typical spinal pain, spontaneous spinal epidural hematoma should be included in the early differential diagnosis to avoid delayed treatment and unfavorable prognosis.

Molecular mechanism of total flavonoids of hawthorn leaves in spinal cord injury treatment: A combined network pharmacology and experimental study

PubMed - functional neurological disorder Published 19 Oct 2026 Relevancy: Not reviewed

CONCLUSION: TFHL improves functional and histopathological outcomes in SCI models and attenuates inflammatory activation. These effects are consistent with multi-pathway regulation predicted by network pharmacology and are supported, at least in part, by MAPK pathway suppression, warranting further mechanistic and translational studies.

This is a serious problem. The sudden urge to take one's life can happen in minutes with no opportunity to seek help or talk to anyone. Still these drugs are mass prescribed. Bob 'Fiddy' Fiddaman💜🇵🇦 (@Fiddaman) The standard warning on antidepressants assumes people can calmly call their doctor if they feel the urge to end their life. Many can’t. The drug can create a sudden, overwhelming drive that feels like an implanted mission, even when someone has planned ahead. These are antidepressant-induced deaths.
